In the late 1980s, the classic International 500 race was reborn as the Jeep 500, running from Thunder Bay to St. Paul. The second running saw the veteran Lauren Wolff leading the parade in the ditchlines along Highway 61 on the way to posting the 1988 victory aboard a Polaris Indy.
